Giving back to the community that has given Shawn so much support is one of his top priorities.

During high school, Shawn donated more than 300 hours as a volunteer performer. Numerous nonprofit agencies and organizations throughout South Florida have benefited from Shawn's generous spirit, including charity groups, senior centers, health and rehab facilities, community centers, nursing homes and Alzheimer’s programs.

In the summer of 2004, Shawn co-founded a volunteer vocal ensemble, The Singing Ambassadors, “Voices for Volunteerism,” comprised of top choral students from three area high schools. Shawn served as president of the group, which performed at community events and Broward County School Board functions.
In 2005, Volunteer Broward, the county’s largest volunteer clearinghouse, selected Shawn as its “Volunteer Spotlight” for his dedication to community service.
He feels he gets back more than he gives.

“Singing is my true passion in life, and being a volunteer performer is a great way to share that passion with others, in addition to all of the invaluable performance experience I’ve been gaining,” says Shawn.
“It gives me a really good feeling to be able to bring a smile to someone’s face. If I can brighten their day, then the experience is even more rewarding for me.”
